UPDATE:  Dear FHK Residents,

We have been closely following the forecasted weather.  Unfortunately, rain looks extremely likely over the next few days.  Because of this, the FHK board has made the difficult decision to cancel the luminaries this year.  We’re sorry we won’t be able to hold this event but hope to resume this beloved tradition next year.
We wish you and your families all the best at this holiday time!

LUMINARIES INFO:

On Friday, December 24 at 9:30am, join your neighbors for treats, teamwork, and tradition!

Meet at the stop sign between Foothill Knolls & Prairie Dr. to enjoy some festive treats, greet your neighbors, and assemble/distribute luminaries.

Kids and adults (and pickup trucks!) are all needed to pitch in.

Bring any used, clean plastic containers to scoop sand (sour cream or take-out containers work well).  You may also want to bring a small stool if you’d like to sit.

LUMINARIES INSTRUCTIONS:

On the evening of December 24, light ONE candle in each bag. Light the ones in front of your house, and help out your neighbors, too!

On the evening of December 25, light the OTHER candle in each bag.

On the morning of December 26, keep an eye out for the cleanup committee around 9:30am, and feel free to join them.

If possible, please park cars in your driveway rather than in the street on the nights of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

IN OTHER NEWS:

The Foothill Knolls Annual Meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday, January 13th at 7pm. Save the date and watch for an E-vite to come soon.  All adult residents are encouraged to attend, and those who do will receive a neighborhood gift!

We are looking for someone to fill the position of VP on the FHK Board.  This is a small time commitment but a great way to get involved and meet more neighbors.  If interested, please respond or let one of the board members know.  We will vote at the annual meeting in January.

A reminder that especially during this time of year, be sure to lock up, pick up your mail daily, and don’t leave anything in your car.  Unfortunately in the past, the neighborhood has had some theft.  Be watchful.

SAFETY

Just a reminder as we approach this holiday season to be extra vigilant about picking up your mail each day and bringing in packages from your porch.  Our neighborhood has unfortunately had occurrences of theft in the past, especially during this time of year.
